We have a wonderfully busy Christmas coming up thanks to our fundraisers.  The community are always great supporters at this time of year and we have some great things planned to show patients across the hospital that we all care.

Frames Conservatories Direct are holding a Santa’s Grotto over the weekend of 10th and 11th December. Pop along to see Santa and help them fundraise for the Rainbow Ward. The Grotto will be open from 10am-12pm and 1pm-4pm and Santa just requires a donation to his favourite charity!
Local stores and groups have been collecting like mad and we are due to have visits from the Beck Row Bikers, Tesco’s in Haverhill, The Rushbrooke Arms and even the Ipswich Town football team, always a popular visit with both patients and staff.
Alongside this are the wonderful guys from 6th Regiment Army Air Corp and the Royal Anglian Regiment who are holding an “army style” Santa’s Grotto in the Arc from Monday 5th to Saturday 10th December.  They are supporting the whole hospital and asking for the public to buy an additional gift this Christmas for someone who will be spending the festive period in the West Suffolk Hospital. So if you fancy buying a pair of socks to keep an orthopaedic patients toes warm, a box of chocolates to cheer up an elderly patient, some smellies for our surgical patients or to cheer up any of our patients, no matter of their age, please pop your gift down to the guys in the Arc. Saturday will also see the addition of Santa’s usual mode of transport (that sleigh costs too much to run all year) when he brings his helicopter down to the Arc! Please note:  gifts should be delivered unwrapped.
Don’t forget to get your tickets for A Night 2 Remember on Sunday 18th December. The night will see an array of music with The Brotherhood of Man performing plus Kristin Kapelli and DJ Carl Whitehouse to ensure you dance the night away. Hosting by We Love BSE it promises to be a fantastic night and will be supporting our Love Your Nodes Campaign. Tickets are available at www.welovebse.com.
And I know it seems a long way off but Patrick Chung is supporting the charity once again by hosting a Chinese New Year Spectacular Variety Show to celebrate the year of the rooster. Tickets are now on sale via www.theapex.co.uk and are just £12 each. There is also a Chinese buffet available but numbers are limited so make sure you book your place today.
That just leaves me to wish you all very merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2017.

Best wishes,
