Hello all, welcome to the March update from the Moreton Hall Community Centre and Club!
Hello everyone. Lovely to see the nights getting shorter and the mornings getting lighter! I hope you’re all getting ready for Spring, which means that we are making plans for our annual Easter extravaganza!
This year we’re having a new entertainer come to us who is the purveyor of exotic animals, including most excitingly, a baby crocodile! This is happening on Easter Sunday in the afternoon, after of course the annual Easter Egg Hunt, free for members of course and a £2 fee for any non-members children that want to join in.
This is Easter Sunday on the 6th April, the activities will start at 11am and continue all day! There is a sign-up sheet on the bar, so make sure you get your children’s names down as soon as possible, as in previous years we have run out of space, it is a first come first serve event. You will need your membership card when booking, so please remember to bring it with you.
Back to March, on Saturday 7th we are having the first darts tournament of the year at the club! Registration will start at 8pm, is £5 entry with all proceeds going towards the cash pot for the winning player!
On Saturday 14th, the second Saturday Night Bingo will take place, with the usual format of playing for cash, and to fill up the pot at the third bingo session on April 14th, where there will be enormous pay-outs up for grabs! All Saturday night bingo starts at 8pm in the Clubroom.
The day after, it is of course Mother’s Day. For those that want to treat their Mum this Mother’s Day, why not come down to the clubroom and partake in our lovely 3 course menu, constructed especially for the date. To view the menu, come to the bar or subscribe to our emails to have a look – at £9.95 for 3 courses of freshly cooked, delicious food, it’s well worth it! (£6.25 for children). Mum’s dining with us will also get a special treat at the end of the meal. To book, email us on info@moretonhallcommunity centre.co.uk, or contact us on 01284 763402.
On Saturday 21st March, one of our members Colin is putting together a general quiz, all proceeds going to charity and with prizes up for grabs for the winning teams! He is supporting Clic Sargent, who helps children with cancer and their families, so come down to support a good cause and have an entertaining night! Starts from 8pm..
And then on 28th March, we are holding a hilarious Big Breakfast challenge at the Club, all in aid of Age UK. The brave participants will be trying to eat a breakfast of absolutely gargantuan proportions, so big that it is very likely to put you off partaking in a full English ever again. But for one, glorious night, all in the name of charity, contestants will be trying to eat a massive cooked breakfast to raise some money, heroically taking the risk of being put off bacon for life. We will have a raffle on the night as well, with loads of prizes up from grabs – come down to support, or if you fancy taking on the challenge (and in fairness, getting a free meal), contact us at the Club!
We’ve had a few changes to our food offering at the club – on Fridays we offer all of our bar menu (excluding steak and ribs) for the very modest and brilliant price of £3.99 from 12-2pm! And on Sundays we continue to do what we think of as the best roast in town, except now we offer it as a standalone for £5.95, 2 courses for £7.20 or 3 courses for £7.95! Every Sunday from 12-6pm, with the exception of special events like Mother’s Day on 15th March.
With lots to do in the coming month, come see us for a drink and maybe, just maybe, we’ll get an opportunity to enjoy some sunshine on our patio! Hope to see you all soon!
