Have you ever considered learning how to save a life?
Do you have a few hours a month that you could give up to help others?
St John Ambulance has a sizeable and active unit of volunteers of all ages in Bury St Edmunds and is hoping to hear from enthusiastic local people who might wish to learn how to save a life. The 30 adult members regularly go out on duty at events in the local area, such as the Christmas and Whitsun Fairs, the Culford Triathlon, Race for Life and many others gatherings in and around Bury St Edmunds, and provide first aid treatment for those who need it.
As well as the adults, there are also groups of Cadets (10- to 17-year-olds) and Badgers (seven- to 10-year-olds) all of whom are learning to be the life savers of the future.
You never know when you might need first aid – in the home, at school, in the workplace or in the street – but by equipping yourself with these techniques you could potentially be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
