Tickets are on sale now for a comedy night in celebration of a well-known Bury St Edmunds man.
It is hoped more than 400 people will attend the third Phil’s Big Comedy Night, in memory of Philip Scar.
Philip, of Onehouse, was killed in an accident while cycling along Old London Road, Copdock, in August 2010. He had spent the day with family at Jimmy’s Farm and was cycling home when he was involved in a collision with a 4×4.
To remember him, his friends and family launched the annual comedy night in his memory and to raise funds for St Nicholas Hospice Care and the South Lee Parent Teachers Association.
The Beer, Curry, Comedy-themed evening event is being held at the new South Lee Sports Hall, in Bury St Edmunds, on Friday 6 February 2015. A number of major comedy acts will be performing, including Geoff Norcott, Joe Rowntree and The Noise Next Door.
Claire Butler, St Nicholas Hospice Care Major Gifts Manager, said: “We are delighted Philip’s friends and family have kindly thought of the Hospice when organising what promises to be a fantastic evening. We are very grateful for their support.
“The funds raised at the Beer, Curry, Comedy evening will help the Hospice to support patients facing long term and life-threatening illnesses, and their families.”
Tickets cost £42 per person, including a curry feast, entertainment and disco. To book, go to www.philsbigcomedynight.com or call 01284 715055.
