The Bury St Edmunds Postcard Fair returned on Saturday 9th September 2023 to the County High School, Beetons Way, Bury St Edmunds after an absence of four years. The event was held in the sports hall and there were plenty of positive comments about the venue and the catering van which was positioned at one corner of the building.
Despite it being held on one of the hottest days of the year, a large queue quickly formed prior to opening. Once the doors opened, there was a steady flow of people all keen to find new additions to their collections (photo taken shortly after opening). Stallholders were able to reacquaint themselves with customers they had not seen since 2019.
Our club had its own stall selling donated postcards to raise money for club funds and it was pleasing to see so many club members attending this fair.
We can only hope it will return in 2024 and once again become a regular feature in collectors’ diaries.
