Community projects in the Abbeygate ward of Bury St Edmunds could benefit from a slice of a councillor’s £2,500 fund.
St Edmundsbury Borough Councillor Joanna Rayner is inviting representatives of community groups, charities and voluntary organisations in her ward, to meet her at The Apex next Tuesday 3 February, from 3pm to 5pm, to discuss how they can apply for a share of the fund towards projects, events, or bits of equipment, which will benefit the local community.
It is the first year that St Edmundsbury has run a locality budget scheme.
Cllr Rayner said: “I have a small budget available to contribute to community projects and I am keen to hear from groups in my area about their ideas. I would like to help bring families and communities together to share ideas that will encourage more community participation in the things that really matter to the people in the town.
“Parking is Free from 3pm on Tuesdays and I am hopeful that groups will pop along for chat about the opportunities that are available for working together for the good of the Abbeygate Ward.”
