This issue marks the 180th issue of the Moreton Hall Directory (and the 61st issue of the Bury St Edmunds Directory, the Southgate edition). Wow! How time flies…

Some of you may even remember the very first issue 15 years ago, back then our friend Tina was at the helm, she started the publication completely single-handedly and what a success she made of it!

Fast forward a few years to when Jeremy and I took over the mantle from Tina. We knew that it had already become part of the Moreton Hall community so we were always mindful to keep it relevant and a great source of local information for you all.

5 years ago, we introduced a second magazine to the Southgate area after lots of persuasion from Bob Jones (thank you Bob!) who felt it would be a great addition to the Southgate community as well as Moreton Hall.

The magazine has moved on since it’s early days, and distribution is increasing all the time.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our advertisers over the years, our readers and our contributors, without whom we simply wouldn’t be able to put the magazine together each month.

We have some fantastic columnists for both the magazines, who have been with us month in month out over the years, but, a very special mention is needed for Frank Warby who has been with us since day one. I honestly cannot remember a single issue in 15 years, when he hasn’t supplied his content, whatever has been going on in his life at the time, he never fails to make the deadline. Thank you Frank.

As we move forward, we can’t ignore the fact that print publications are becoming less popular what with the internet, we’ve seen a few local publications come and go in the last 15 years, but we’re very proud to be still going strong and we hope to continue to do so for as long as possible!

Please do remember to mention the directory
if you contact any of the local businesses
that advertise in the magazine, and let them know where you found them, we’d really appreciate it.

So finally, thank you to all our readers over
the years, we look forward to popping
through your letterbox each month for the
next 15 years!
