Into the New Year, for which I wish you well, and things are beginning to happen. The building of a new school and extension of both Abbots Green and Sebert Wood schools is due to start mid year. February 4th is the date at which pre-planning for the final phase commences and Joy Stoddart, Project Lead, School Organisation will hold two open meetings at which those interested will be able to see and discuss the plans.
The first meeting will be held at Abbots Green Primary School on Feb 9th and the second at The Community Centre on Feb 23rd, the timings of these meetings are yet to be detailed. Previous to this Joy will give a preview to MHRA at their Committee Meeting on Jan 29th. Hopefully there will be some good news on what is to replace the “Football Facility” and a workable transport plan for all three schools.
We, MHRA, have been receiving feedback about parking on green verges particularly those in on the stretch of Symonds Road between the hotel and Shakers Lane. Contractors have recently completed repair in the area and already it is being torn up through inconsiderate use. Please park on the road, there is no restriction. Suffolk Highways are considering the situation and have been asked if permanent barriers can be erected or Symonds Road becoming a “Freeway”.
