Well we are into July and so far not any real sign of summer but I hope the sun will show its face for longer this month. The community garden is in full flourish with its natural plants making an appearance. Sadly there are some who continue to use this area to dispose of their rubbish.
Andy Abbott, Chairman of Southgate Community Partnership, recently presented me with a cheque for £150 from the proceeds of the Valentines Ball to be used in the community garden. Patrick Chung can be seen accepting a cheque, also from the proceeds of the ball, towards his Mayors charities.
A reminder that our next public meeting will be held on Friday 29th July 7.30pm at the community centre where the guest speaker will be Jo Churchill, MP. Please come and join us and meet your local MP, this is an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about local issues or national issues which may affect you. Even if you haven’t a question to ask, come along, I’m sure it will be an interesting evening.
