The children (and s) have returned to school with an eagerness to learn and they are very excited about their new topics. The children in Key Stage 2 were being newspaper reporters this week, reporting on an alien landing! We had green goo, alien eggs, police tape round areas and a visit from PCSO Oliver setting the scene for  the story.

The subsequent writing produced was great. As I write this I am on my way to the Natural History Museum in London with 100 Key Stage One children to learn about dinosaurs and mammals.

They are all very excited and have also seen the London landmarks too.

Making the curriculum fun and the learning exciting, plus enhancing this with educational visits is very important to us, and it is these experiences the children will remember and look back fondly on in years to come.

We’ll be back next month with more news from Hardwick Primary School.

Best wishes
