A new restaurant aiming to rival the best in East Anglia opened its doors on Angel Hill, Bury St Edmunds recently.
Critically acclaimed Chef Zack Deakins is the new patron of 1921 Angel Hill and brings a wealth of experience to his new venture. Formerly head chef at the Bildeston Crown and Le Talbooth, Dedham, Zack also trained under Michelin-starred chef Martin Wishart at his restaurant in Edinburgh. 1921 is the realisation of a long held dream to run his own business and will offer a fine dining restaurant and canapé bar along with private dining facilities for parties and group bookings.
Said Zack “I have been fortunate to have worked with some amazing chefs and my own menu is drawn from their influences aswell as my love of travel, reading and eating out a lot. I am so excited to be opening my own restaurant and to be able to share my passion for beautifully cooked fresh, local produce. I think Bury St Edmunds is just the town do it in”.
The elegant, newly refurbished restaurant takes its name from its address at 19-21 Angel Hill, a heavily beamed Grade II listed building. Formerly run by Paul Bailey as Graze Kitchen & Bar, Paul now joins Zack and brings to the table his own vast experience in running restaurants and pubs in the area.
1921 is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week as well as for Christmas parties with a competitively priced menu. Bookings can be made on 01284 704870, email info@nineteen-twentyone.co.uk or check out www.nineteen-twentyone.co.uk
